How to play G chromatic on guitar
Open G is the tonic and open D the fifth under it, so a drone pair rings without any left hand at all. Aside from that open G, the nearest fretted root is fret 3 on the low E, which is also the lowest-pitched one. Fret 10 on the A matches that open G. Four flats in the signature and a symmetric layout mean nothing is out of place, letting you start any pattern on any fret.
