The hungarian minor scale is harmonic minor with a raised 4th: two augmented 2nd leaps, one on each side of the 5th. This is the full gypsy-scale drama of Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsodies and Eastern European violin music, and a secret weapon in neoclassical metal. The #4 to 5 and 7 to root resolutions give it two built-in climaxes per octave.
it consists of these notes and degrees:

How to play E hungarian minor on guitar
Both E strings are open roots and open B the fifth, so a drone is available with no fingers down. Gaug on the flat third is an augmented triad, which means a three-note grip you can slide anywhere and reuse. Three sharps in the signature. Box one hands off at fret 4, with roots at fret 7, fret 5, fret 2 and fret 9 across the middle four strings.
