  • A whole tone scale with a dark doorstep: enter on b2 (E), then glide in whole steps from III to bVII (Db).
  • Use it over a Eb7b9#5 vamp; the b2 (E) is the b9, the b6 (B) the #5 (B), and the whole tone upper half supplies the rest.

Nearest root sits at fret 1 on the D string, so low-position lines start there rather than on a barre.
