How to play E♭ lydian diminished on guitar
Open A and open D belong here, an augmented fourth and a major seventh above Eb, so two strings can ring under a fretted line. Fret 1 on the D string is the root nearest the nut, which lets first position carry a resolution. Lowest root is fret 11 on the low E. Capo 1 recasts the whole shape as D, and the first box runs out at fret 15.
