The mixolydian augmented scale, the third mode of the neapolitan minor scale, is mixolydian with a raised 5th: a dominant 7th sound whose 5th has been pushed up. It matches 7#5 chords exactly, offering a whole-tone flavor that keeps the natural 6th for melodic relief. Use it where an augmented dominant needs more than the whole tone scale offers.
it consists of these notes and degrees:
I+
ii
III
IV
#V
vi
bVII
Same notes, different mode
Ab mixolydian augmented uses the same notes as the scales below. Start from a different note and you get a new mode built on the very same note set.

How to play A♭ mixolydian augmented on guitar
Only the two E strings fall in this key, and both give the augmented fifth, so open-string ringing pushes against the tonic. Lowest root sits at fret 4 on the low E string, while the nearest-nut root waits at fret 1 on the G string. Four flats on the page. Capo at fret 1 hands the shapes to G, which lets you borrow open-position fingerings from that key. Bbm sits at ii, giving you a minor grip inside a key built on an augmented tonic.
