How to play A♭ flat six pentatonic on guitar

Both open E strings count in the key as Fb, the minor 6th, which means they thicken a chord but will not hold a pedal. Roots run 1 on the G string, 4 on both E strings, 6 on the D, 9 on the B and 11 on the A. Lowest-numbered of those is fret 1, though the lowest-pitched root is the low E at 4, giving box one a home just above the nut. Under a capo at 1, G shapes work.
